Sofa Sample Inspection Before a Bulk Order

Inspect a sofa sample against the agreed drawing, finish references and intended use. Record dimensions, workmanship, comfort observations and open issues separately so approval has a clear meaning.
Identify the Sample
Label the sample with the model and revision. Ask whether the filling, fabric, feet and connectors represent the proposed order. A temporary fabric can help review shape, but it cannot settle the appearance or cleaning requirements of the final upholstery.
Inspect What Can Be Observed
Compare seams, piping, cushion alignment and exposed finishes with the agreed references. Check ordinary sitting and getting up on the assembled sample. Photograph each issue with its location and write the required correction instead of relying on a general comment such as improve quality.
Close the Approval Record
Distinguish appearance approval from any required performance evidence. Assign a person to confirm corrections and state whether another sample is needed. Retain the approved reference so later production changes can be assessed against the same basis.
Approval Record
- Drawing and material revision
- Measured dimensions and agreed tolerances
- Workmanship and comfort observations
- Correction owner and recheck method

Limit approval to the parts actually reviewed
List the substitute parts before signing the sample record. Identify the proposed order specification, the part fitted to the sample and the decision that can be made from it. Attach a photograph of the sample label to distinguish it from the final approved construction.
- Temporary upholstery: record shape observations, but leave final color, texture, seam appearance and care compatibility open.
- Substitute cushion insert: record the sample's dimensions, but do not transfer its comfort approval to a different layered filling.
- Temporary feet: review the visible finish separately; keep final seat height, support arrangement and floor contact pending.
- Missing connector: keep the intended joined arrangement open even if the individual modules have been reviewed.
These are examples of approval limits, not permission to substitute parts in production. A change can affect several decisions. Replacing a cushion insert may require another fit and sitting review; approving the new color alone would not close those questions.
Link each correction to the next sample revision
For a hypothetical seam correction, identify the left arm, attach the marked photograph and state which approved reference the seam should match. When the revised sample arrives, give it a new revision and compare that location. Also check whether the fabric, insert or frame changed while the seam was corrected. Record those changes instead of carrying every earlier approval forward automatically.
APM's change-control guidance calls for proposed changes to an approved baseline to be evaluated and decided before implementation. This component record applies that approach to sofa samples; it is not a laboratory test.
For YEINIHOME (言逸家), identify the quoted frame components, bottom support, cushion configuration and module connections that the sample represents. Send the open decisions with the sofa enquiry. The public BS EN 16139 preview describes a separate seating performance scope; a signed appearance record does not establish compliance.

Questions Before You Order
Can Temporary Fabric Be Used for Sample Approval?
It may support a shape review, but keep final fabric appearance, care and related details pending until the specified material is reviewed.
What Should the Approval Record Contain?
Include sample identity, drawing revision, measurements, finish references, observations and the owner of each unresolved correction.
Does approving one corrected seam approve every component?
No. Close the named correction and identify any other changes in the revised sample. Carry forward earlier decisions only where their underlying specification remains applicable.
