Comparing Sofa Quotes Without Missing the Scope

In short: Compare sofa quotes by the complete approved arrangement. Check whether each price covers a module, a finished sofa or the full set.
White modular sofa in a showroom setting

Compare sofa quotations against one specification and configuration. Separate product price from upholstery changes, packing, delivery and any assembly responsibilities before deciding which offer is lower.

Give Every Supplier the Same Starting Point

State the outside dimensions, module arrangement, finish references and quantities. Mark undecided selections. If one offer uses a different fabric or cushion construction, record the difference as a variation rather than comparing the line totals as equivalent.

List What the Price Includes

Check whether cushions, legs, connection fittings and protective packing are included. Describe the required delivery destination and agreed trade terms with the supplier. Do not assume that a room image identifies everything in the offer, or that transport to a port means delivery into the building.

Resolve Differences Before Approval

Use a comparison sheet with one row per difference, its price effect and its approval status. Ask for a revised quote when the sample changes. Keep the final specification and quote revision together so purchasing does not release an earlier version by mistake.

Approval Record

  • Same model and configuration
  • Upholstery and cushion references
  • Packing and delivery boundaries
  • Quote validity and unresolved variations

RIBA links the project brief with design coordination and cost planning. RIBA Plan of Work 2020. For furniture purchasing, the practical application is to compare a defined scope before accepting a price.

Check what “one sofa” means on the quotation

Write the pricing unit beside every amount. A module, a complete sectional and a furniture set can each occupy one quotation line. The word “sofa” alone leaves that unit unclear.

In a hypothetical comparison, offer A prices three specified modules at USD 400 each. Offer B prices the same complete three-module arrangement at USD 1,150. A's comparable product subtotal is 3 × 400 = USD 1,200. Comparing 400 with 1,150 would compare a component with an assembled arrangement. These are invented figures for checking arithmetic, not YEINIHOME prices.

First confirm that the three modules really match in dimensions, arms, upholstery and cushion specification. Then record any missing connector or separately priced part. An equal module count does not establish an equal configuration. Keep delivery and other services outside this product-only comparison until their scope is confirmed.

Record quantities for the complete arrangement

Use columns for item reference, pricing unit, units per arrangement, arrangement quantity and line subtotal. If an ottoman is optional, give it a separate row instead of silently counting it as a seat. Retain the approved layout beside the schedule.

APM: change control supports recording and evaluating changes to the agreed baseline. If a module changes after pricing, ask YEINIHOME (言逸家) to identify the affected price line in the revised sofa quotation. The calculation only compares the scope that both offers actually include.
