Planning Modular Sofa Layouts and Connections

In short: Check modular sofa connectors with an interface record for each layout. Track orientation, joining instructions and changes before approving the arrangement.

Approve a modular sofa as a named arrangement of components, with a drawing showing orientation and connections. Use the drawing to identify left-hand and right-hand pieces as well as quantities.

Name Every Module

Assign a code to each armless section, corner, chaise and end unit. Define left and right from an agreed viewing direction and include a labelled plan. For repeated apartment layouts, give each arrangement its own reference rather than relying on one photograph for every room.

Review Reconfiguration Claims

Ask which layouts the supplied modules can actually form and where connectors are located. A piece may look symmetrical while its fittings are not. If the operator intends to move units for events or cleaning, request the joining and release instructions and a demonstration with the sample.

Check the Whole Arrangement

Review gaps, alignment and stability in the proposed configuration. Confirm how feet meet the floor and whether any module needs adjustment. Changes to the connection or base should be recorded before the layout is accepted for a bulk order.

Approval Record

  • Module codes and orientation drawing
  • Connector locations and instructions
  • Approved alternative arrangements
  • Access route for the largest component

Map modular sofa connectors between each pair of units

Give every joint its own record. Start with the module codes already shown on the plan, then name the two faces that meet. A connector photograph without that location can be difficult to interpret after the sofa is rearranged.

  1. Record the layout revision and the two adjoining module codes.
  2. Mark the connector position on each face, including its orientation.
  3. Attach the supplier's joining and release instructions for that hardware.
  4. Record who checked the assembled pair and any unresolved gap, alignment or access issue.

For example, a hypothetical straight arrangement A–B–C has joints A/B and B/C. Changing it to A–C–B introduces A/C and C/B. The inventory still contains three modules, but the connection record has changed. Even reversing a previously used pair needs confirmation if its fittings have a direction. This example describes a review method; it does not identify a YEINIHOME connector system.

Separate a layout demonstration from performance evidence

During a supplier-led demonstration, record whether the intended users can release and reconnect the units using the prescribed method. Stop if parts bind or the instructions do not match the hardware. Do not improvise a pull test, modify fittings or add an unapproved connector to make the arrangement work.

The BS EN 16139:2025 preview describes the scope of non-domestic seating assessment. Ask the report issuer which exact configuration and connections the evidence covers.

If a connector or module changes, retain the earlier drawing and identify every affected joint. APM change-control guidance separates evaluation and approval from implementation. Applied here, that means a proposed replacement fitting remains pending until its compatibility and revised instructions are confirmed.

Send YEINIHOME (言逸家) the labelled plan and unresolved joint records with the sofa enquiry. Ask for the module connection details in writing; a showroom arrangement alone does not establish every alternative layout.

Questions Before You Order

How Should Left and Right Be Specified?

Use a labelled drawing and state the viewing direction. Do not rely on an unlabelled product photograph.

Can Modules Be Moved for Cleaning?

Confirm the release and rejoining instructions for the actual connectors. Do not pull joined sections apart without the prescribed method.

Does the same module count prove that a new layout will work?

No. Check each adjoining pair and the required connection points. Retain the new layout as pending until the supplier confirms it.
