Upholstered or Wood Beds for Hotels and Apartments?
Choose between an upholstered bed and a bed with exposed wood surfaces by reviewing the room design, cleaning method and replacement plan together. Neither description is detailed enough to establish durability, and many beds combine both materials.
Describe the Surfaces Guests and Staff Will Touch
Break the bed into headboard, side rails, foot end and legs. Identify the exposed material on each part. “Wood bed” could describe several constructions and finishes; “upholstered bed” leaves the fabric, seams and cover attachment unspecified.
For a hotel or serviced apartment, ask housekeeping to review the proposed sample before the finish is approved. The team needs to know how the material can be cleaned, how moisture is managed and which products the supplier permits. Record the instructions by material reference so a later substitution triggers another review.
| Decision | Upholstered Surface | Exposed Wood Surface |
|---|---|---|
| Cleaning | Confirm the specified fabric’s approved method | Confirm the actual finish’s approved method |
| Sample review | Check seams, texture, colour and corners | Check grain, colour, edges and finish consistency |
| Repair planning | Ask whether panels or covers can be replaced | Ask which components can be repaired or replaced |
| Documentation | Fabric reference and relevant test information | Material and finish description |
Read Fabric Test Numbers Carefully
The Association for Contract Textiles cautions that a higher abrasion result does not establish a longer service life. Its Association for Contract Textiles: Abrasion Disclaimer also identifies cleaning, maintenance and application as relevant factors. An impressive rub count should not replace a review of how the bed will be used and maintained.
Ask for the test method as well as the number, and keep it attached to the selected fabric reference. Do not transfer a result from one fabric to another because their colours look similar. For a wider explanation of fabric selection, see the upholstery fabric procurement guide.
Approve the Bed Beside the Other Finishes
Review the headboard sample with the cabinet, flooring and wall finish under the proposed room lighting. Decide which variation is acceptable and keep labelled samples. This is particularly useful when an apartment project repeats a room design across several delivery batches.
The hotel finish schedule should identify those references and the person approving changes. Keep an unresolved replacement-cover question open rather than assuming that a sewn upholstered panel is removable.
When discussing beds and bedroom furniture with YEINIHOME, include the project’s cleaning requirements and the preferred appearance. Ask for the available construction and finish details before choosing between two visual options.
Review the joint between fabric and wood
A bed can have a fabric headboard with exposed wood trim. Check how housekeeping will clean the edge where those materials meet. A method approved for the fabric does not automatically suit the adjacent finish, adhesive or backing.
DLI: fabric cleanability codes describes W as a water-based upholstery-cleaning category. It is not permission to soak the assembled headboard or wash a removable-looking panel. Follow the selected product's instructions for application, moisture and drying, and ask about the adjoining materials.
The Canadian Conservation Institute: wooden furniture care explains that wood responds to changes in humidity and that water spills can mark a finish. Its conservation guidance supports taking moisture seriously; it does not identify a suitable cleaner for a new YEINIHOME model.
Record the boundary on the sample
Photograph the fabric-to-trim joint and identify the material on each side. Record the permitted method for each surface, whether the edge can be reached without wetting the other material, and any question awaiting a supplier response. Include the lower rails if floor cleaning could bring them into contact with moisture.
Ask YEINIHOME (言逸家) for care information tied to the proposed bed configuration. If the two instructions cannot be followed together, resolve the method or reconsider the finish before approval. Keep a brief staff care sheet with the final material references; a fabric swatch alone cannot describe the assembled bed's cleaning boundaries.

Questions Before You Order
Is Exposed Wood Always Easier to Clean?
Do not decide from the material label alone. Compare the actual finish instructions, joints and accessible surfaces with the planned cleaning routine.
Can an Upholstered Headboard Cover Be Replaced?
That depends on its construction and available parts. Ask how the cover or panel is attached and what replacement arrangement can be agreed.
Does a W fabric code cover the whole upholstered bed?
No. Confirm the method for the specified fabric and for adjacent trim, backing and other components. The assembled product needs compatible care instructions.
